The Janez Trdina Cultural Centre hosted a screening of Metod Pevec\u2019s documentary Ko pridem ven. The film follows a group of inmates at Dob Prison as they work with psychiatrist Vladimir Milo\u0161evi\u0107 to confront their actions, their past and their relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the screening, I moderated a conversation with the director. We discussed the making of the film, the sensitivities of bringing a camera into such an environment, and the trust needed for people to reveal some of the most difficult parts of their lives on screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film raises challenging questions about responsibility, the consequences of violence and the possibility of change. This is why I find conversations after screenings so valuable: they give audiences a deeper understanding of the filmmaker\u2019s approach and the circumstances in which a film was made.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
