The end of the school holidays in Novo Mesto was enriched by the premiere of the digitized version of the cult children’s film Srečno Kekec. A full auditorium of visitors of all generations enthusiastically watched the restored film and listened to a discussion with Marko Mulej, head of cultural production at the Novo Mesto Institute, who presented the program highlights of the 20205/26 season and the plan for the complete renovation of two symbols of Novo Mesto culture, the National Home and the wine cellar of composer Marjan Kozina. Both renovations are demanding from both a technical and content perspective and will significantly enrich the offer and capacity of Novo Mesto’s creativity, both professional and amateur, in the next two years.

The trilogy of films about Kekec is closely linked to Novo Mesto, as, in addition to the aforementioned composer Kozina, cinematographer and editor Ivan Marinček also collaborated on the films.
