Slovenian Civil Defence Head Srečko Šestan was guest of the premiere talk show No Filter with Anuša. The novelty in the offer of social events in Novo mesto was warmly welcomed by the audience at the ArtCaffe of the Janez Trdina Cultural Centre, which accepted Šestan with great interests and sympathy.
The evening was enriched with music by musician Bort Ross, who premiered a live performance of a track from his upcoming new album, K tebi odnesem svoje srce.
In a conversation with host Anuša Gaši, Šestan recapped his fascinating life journey, and in particular, they discussed the major milestones of his career. Since 2012, when he took over the leadership of our largest, best organised and most reliable organisation, Civil Protection, he has led large-scale civil society actions in the face of 2014 ice storm, the 2015 and 2016 migrations, the 2017 Kemis factory accident, the 2020 and 2021 coronavirus epidemics, last year’s severe fire in the Karst region, and this summer’s extreme floods. In all cases, it has shown a consistently organised and efficient response, making the consequences of these events less devastating than they could have been.
He was accompanied on his visit to Novo mesto by his “greatest ally and support”, his wife Nevenka.
The project partners are Vesnik Institute, Novo mesto Institute, Janez Trdina Cultural Centre, ArtCaffe KCJT and TV Vaš Kanal.
