This year marked Slovenia’s first coordinated national presence at Swiss Biotech Day in Basel, one of the biotechnology sector’s leading international gatherings. The Slovenian delegation brought together 14 companies and more than 30 participants, with the joint presentation organised by SPIRIT Slovenia, Slovenia Biotech Hills and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Switzerland.
I joined the delegation as Director of Slovenia Biotech Hills. The event offered an opportunity to showcase Slovenia’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical ecosystem, connect with international counterparts and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
At the shared Slovenian stand, companies demonstrated the breadth of their expertise, from bioprocess development and advanced therapies to process equipment, automation and other solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Business meetings provided opportunities for direct discussions with potential partners.
Joint appearances such as this are an important part of our work at SBH. Individual companies have much to offer; together, we can also present a clearer picture of Slovenia as a country where research expertise, development and advanced manufacturing come together.
